There are plenty of holidays on the calendar with which everyone is familiar. However, many other special days occur during the winter months that not everyone knows about or commemorates. If you want to come up with interesting ways of decorating for those not so well known holidays, word photography is a great option.
February – American Heart Month
February is American Heart Month, and this provides a great opportunity to decorate your home in honor of the friends and loved ones you have lost due to heart problems and related complications. You can use word photography to show special names, and pair those with photos and other mementos. You can also include numbers to list the dates that you lost these special people.
February – Ash Wednesday
Ash Wednesday is a Christian holiday that is celebrated by many families each year. Take advantage of this day to honor your beliefs, and decorate your home as well. This day marks the start of the 40 days of Lent, and is celebrated in honor of the Lord’s trek across the desert with the devil. You can use word photography to spell out holy names that have special meaning to you and others who practice your faith. Add other religious decorations, photos, or scriptures to complete your decorating.
February 14 – Valentine’s Day
While much thought and planning goes into the activities on this love-filled day, few take the time to decorate for it. Use your word art letters to spell out the name of the one you love so they know you are thinking about them all day long. Consider adding both names together, or you can even include photos of special moments the two of you have shared during your relationship. A photo collage coupled with the names of the loving couple adds the perfect touch.
